Good luck on that! I've been badgering val Forgett for years to bring back .32 RF, and one day he may do it...but .25? Forget it. Not going to happen. You may want to look into this guy in France who sells adapters for shooting old obsolete rimfires and pinfires: http://www.hc-collection.com/Default.asp. He doesn't list the .25 but has the .32 RF and may perhaps know of some work-around. An alternative would be to re-chamber and adapt it to shoot .25 ACP, but that's going to be a) pricey; and b) iffy. Since the gun has sentimental and collector value I would be very hesitant to do that in a destructive way, but if you can manage it by simple part replacements it's a possibility. I don't know about the dimensions of the .25 ACP versus the .25 RF, but if you can insert a .25 ACP into the chamber as it is, it should be do-able. A new breechblock with a CF pin and extractor and you're in business. The .25 ACP is a semi-rimmed round, it ought to seat on the breech of the existing barrel. Good luck with the project and please report back what you find out. |

| (no avatar) | It would be an easy operation to have a .22 cal. liner installed and shoot modern .22 rimfire ammunition. Make sure the action is strong enough for .22 Long Rifle ammo. It may be limited to .22 Short pressure only. |

The breechblock may have to be altered to allow the firing pin to strike the .22 caliber rim properly. Alternatively the liner can be inserted off-center, but that has some issues of its own. Better to buy a breechblock and have a smith re-position the pin if needed. Given the close diameter similarities it's possible that just replacing the pin with a wider one would work, too. |
