Bob- had that site bookmarked years ago, and lost it- thanks for posting it.  A quick war story, if I may-

Few Christmases ago, my lady gave me a CD- "Vietnam- A Musical Perspective".  Well, had an EARLY morning flight from Baltimore, was driving up I-95, nothing on the radio but Art Bell and the tin foil hat brigade- remembered I had that CD, and had not played it yet- so popped it in the CD player.  Remember, it is still pitch dark out, EARLY early morning..... long lead in.... followed by  "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD  MORNING, Vietnam! This is Armed Forces Radio, SAIGON!"

NOT Robin Williams- the ORIGINAL Adrian Kronauer- was the narrator for all of the tracks on that CD.  Put the hair up on the back of my neck, it did!

I have a "helluva" sound system hooked to my PC. For anyof you that want to be blown away, click on "Missisppie Queen", by Mountain. "Felix Pappilardi(bass) (died in early 80's)Leslie West, vocals and guitar, and Corky Laing (drums).  They also had a keyboard player , I think it was Steve Knight, hard to remembry. I did a bunch of shows with them as the "sound guy", and they were one of the VERY best power trios, up there with Hendrix , Clapton, Rush, and GrandFunk.  THANKS FOR THIS BOB.................Great memories..................WALI.............................

In my almost three year tenure this is by far the absolute best thread I have come across. Thanks Bob! Just spent several hours reminiscing. JohnT

I couldn't get a couple of them to play, "The Bird Is the Word" (used in "Full Metal Jacket") among them.  Rats!
