Thread Title: "Sorry to See AuctionArms Slipping Away"
(no avatar)

I have been on AuctionArms for years. And can not help but notice that this site appears to be slipping away into the dust. i can go to several other firearm auction sites, do a search, and find numerous items. But, on AuctionArms - the sellers do not appear to be using the site as much as I recall. Why? Is management of the site not being competitive, with other sites. what is it with AuctionArms - where at one time this site ruled my interest and searches. And, now - I have become accustomed to simply not expecting much. I know these search engines do not function well. Where if I do a search for a particiular model - i get everything that contains even the smallest of letters used in my search bar. that is extremely frustrating. Anyway - I whated to tell someone - the boss, of course, that something major has changed on this site. it is just not the site I rely upon anymore.

snoopy2 - just a passing comment on your observation -

During the gpal fiasco I also noticed a drop in the # of longun and handgun auctions listed here, I even commented on it in one of the forums, something like ~7,000 items.

I just checked - longuns and handgun auctons are 12,000+ now.

Right now (12-21-10) the other site has 24,797 semi-auto handguns by themselves listed. I also wonder where this site is headed. Hopefully up, up and away like they used to be. I always liked this place but, as you say it is dropping off real fast.

In my opinion, WAY too many auctions are relists that have been on either site for months and months, maybe, you should have to pay a token amount for listing,,,,,would sure cut down on the fishing, or do I have my head up there again ??

NUTTS;I agree. I get tired of lookin at auctions that have been relisted for years.

There should be a limit as to the number of times an item can be relisted.

Most relists are of reserve auctions or items priced too high .

I enjoy lookin at the antique section non firearm and Fibber McGees closet, but they are cluttered up with old relists and most are the same sellers over and over again.

Snoopy2, I agree with you Gbroker would have never indorsed Gpal on their site, I guess Manny never did his Homework, allowing all these sellers to be scamed including my self, oh well  thats what we get for being nice guys.

If you take away the relists there won't be much left. I'd say leave it alone. I relist many items many times and eventually they all sell. It's not always that they are listed too high, many times they are just common items that you have to wait until someone comes along that needs that item. Things are already tough at Auction Arms, why would you want to remove any items that are left? Then, instead of saying there are ten times more items at another site you'd be saying there are 20 times more items.

GOV2mod - I concur - we have had that very situation.

Nutts, have you suggested that to the other site also?
