All the birds around here are getting web feet and growing extra down. I quit counting how many inches of rain we have gotten and the temp. will be 80 one day and today at 6:00am it was in the 40's I dont know from one day to the next if I'm going to need thermals or shorts Quack |

Quack - Ever consider buying a pair of thermal shorts? I very nearly got a big gobbler last Saturday night as my bride and I were on the way to the St. Andrew's Society Tartan Ball. He flew right out in front of my SUV and I just don't know why the turkey crossed the road. He was a big ol' tom and I'd estimate him at 30+ lbs dressed out. I guess it's a good thing I missed him, notwithstanding the damage to my car. I'd have had to dress him out right then and there and it would have looked a bit peculiar - a man wearing a skirt dressing out a turkey using a knife he pulled out of his sock. |

RobW - My last car had a bumper sticker which read "Scotsmen Have Tartan Balls" and I guess I'm going to have to find another one of those. The St. Andrew's Society of Baltimore has three formal events a year - the Burns Nicht dinner celebrating the poet laureate of Scotland in January, the Tartan Ball celebrating our "Scottishness" and HRH Elizabeth's birthday in April, and our Anniversary Dinner (the next will be our 202nd) in November. It's a good excuse to "put on the dog" and get some use out of the $3K worth of clothes it takes to dress in Scottish formal wear. Check out the AA pages on Frappr.com and you might see an ol' jarhead in black tie. |
