Thread Title: "HOW FAR DOWN WILL AUCTION ARMS GO?"
(no avatar) this site used to be a great place to buy or sell guns. what happened? the listings keep dwindling down. this site is now a joke. it is a mere shell of what it used to be. the people running this site should be deeply ashamed of themselves for taking peoples money, and then letting this site fall to the point it is now. if it does not change soon, i will not even be looking at it secondarily to gunbrokers site. gb really has their stuff together. too bad auctionarms did not follow suit.

axolotl jwq; this site is great. Good management, nice sellers and buyers, helpful posters on the forums for any questions or problems you may have, With your feedback i don`t believe you have enough experience to pass judgement on any of us. You remind me of the northerners that moved to Phoenix in the 60s and complained that they didn`t do things like they did back home and changed the landscape from desert to green lawns and raised the humidity so they couldn`t live there, brought traffic congestion and smog so that interfered more with thier breathing, and brought enough neon lights so that it looked like suburb of L.A. and increased the crime rate with dopers and hookers and thieves on the street. Then complained that it was worse than where they came from. In my opinion join us but don`t try to change us. axolotl

(no avatar) axolotl, well said! jwq stay around, this site is better than GB will ever be. What is your real complaint? I for one would like to hear it. Be specific about your problems if they are real you might get a response from the AA management.

I'm not sure that I understand all of your sad feelings. You made one valid complaint(decrease in listings)but the rest was undescriptive venting.Since this is a discussion forum how can we discuss it if you don't give us a point to discuss?

I think you have a valid point in the decreased listings.I researched this a few years ago and AA doesn't quite have as many listings as they used to.I agree that the other site is growing a bit.My theory on that is its increased advertising in FFL only type trade magazines is helping. Some new heavy hitters try it out and then run with it.From a sellers stand point the other site has some favorable points like NO mandated 3-day return policy. However since you are a BUYER and not a seller I disagree that the other site is superior.Bigger perhaps but superior no.

I recently had a buyer simply return an $800 shotgun for no reason other than his MRS felt they had other more pressing needs. This site offers superior service to BUYERS.HANDS DOWN!

Honestly I see them as Coke and Pepsi. Each offering similar services and each being able to state they are better.

As a Seller I have a choice to list at either site.As a buyer you can use either site.I do the bulk of my business here at AA because I agree with their business philosophy of offering superior service(3-day inspection period, awesome when you can touch what you're buying, accessible management,a forum where you can complain, try to post this on the green site!).FYI I do list on the other site but its usually broken guns that I don't want returned.I list them truthfully but also state as is with no returns. If you have a problem over there and you have a similar problem here I promise you it will be resolved to your liking here quicker.

This is a fact.I sold almost 1,000 firearms here last year.My commissions to them were almost $12,000.A couple of times I have tried to MUSCLE my way into getting AA to favor me in disputes. It didn't work.It didn't because the management here has integrity.True integrity can't be bought.AA has MY respect.I can't make you respect them but I can use this forum to tell my story. Many big and trusted sellers are here only.Jackthedog,Willie ta,NWarmory,Bubs32,etc

This site might not be getting any bigger but it sure isn't sinking in integrity.Thank You,Grant Williams-President-SSC

AA-bob jwq, I'm really wondering what your agenda is.

No activity in your account for the past 90 days, no bids, no listings, no watch list entries, last feedback posted in 2005, never even received an email from you. Hmmm?

You certainly are entitled to your opinion and if you have an honest complaint, we'll be happy to help you with it. Unlike other auction site Forums, we welcome and can take the heat of honest criticism, it helps keep us on our toes and is valuable in helping us improve the site. We need to know about and work to correct perceived problems.

As most of our true users understand, we tend to focus more on the quality of the sellers and their listings rather than quantity of listings. Of course we also work for increased quantity, but that is secondary to being the BEST place on the internet for firearms auctions. To increase quantity, we then work with good sellers to encourage them in different ways to list more items.

As we weed out the less customer service oriented sellers, they tend to run to places where, to be frank, they can get away with offering lower levels of service.

We're fine with that, everybody needs a place that matches their business plan, ours just isn't it.

With regards to listings numbers, they ebb and flow up or down 10% from day-to-day, but are relatively steady over time.

If you have a specific complaint, post it here or contact me at bob@auctionarms.com. Otherwise, and until then, I really wonder if you aren't an "east Texas" plant. All hat and no herd.

Petesguns It will be interesting if jwq responds to the answers to his posts, or if this is just a hit and run. I have also sold on the other site. I have found that while the other site has seller friendly aspects such as the return policy, I have gotten better overall results here on AA. This also the ONLY place to go if there is ANY interest in service quality. Yes, there are more listings on GB, but the quality is better here, and alot less fluff, or what appears to be filler listings. Alot of the listings there are more of an on-line sale than an auction. Oh well, you get what you pay for, this is the best place overall for buyers AND sellers, period.

(no avatar) I've been listing on this site for about 7 years and I can tell you that the problem is with you, not Auction Arms. My advice is that if you are not happy, leave and let the rest of us enjoy the best site on the internet. Manny and Bob are the best people on the internet to deal with. They listen to all problems, including yours, when no other site gives you the opportunity for an opinion or question to be posted. Think I'll stick with what works for me!!!!

c3shooter Well, as a hobbyist, I am primarily a buyer. One of those folks that is not looking for the newest caliber guaranteed to leave your targets brighter and whiter, but AM looking for older, slightly out of the mainstream guns- maybe a Marlchestburg Chipmunk Squasher in .34 Magnum. I may find examples of both guns, on each of the two sites mentioned. Typically, there may be more of them listed there. Typically, in worse condition. Typically, more $ there. Typically, I buy here.
