Thread Title: "New "Manage My Pictures" feature"
AA-bob In response to many requests from our good customers (thank you!), we have now added a feature to Manage My Pictures that will allow you to bulk upload 10 pictures at a time. This is a "first step" iteration and will be further fine-tuned and enhanced.

The issue of picture uploading (and the time it takes) remains a concern and it is "the" bottleneck/constraint to our sellers running more auctions. We are looking at several possible technical and procedure solutions and enhancements to reduce the pain and overhead of the whole picture uploading and management problem.

Try out this new feature and let us know how it works. In the meantime...Stand by for further improvement in this area.

WILL TRY IT OUT AND LET YOU KNOW HOW IT WORKS.. JUST LOOKED AT IT. DO WE HAVE TO PUT A DESCRIPTION FOR EACH PIC OR CAN IT BE UPLOADED FOR ONE GUN THEN WITH ONE CLICK ALL PICS ADDED TO ONE AUCTION INSTEAD OF ADDING ONE AT A TIME TO ANY AUCTION..

ANYTHING IS AN IMPROVMENT OVER THE PRESENT SYSTEM AND I THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!

AGAIN MY THANKS FOR THIS. I USED IT THIS WEEKEND AND IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE. NOW ONE MORE THING HAVE TO DO AND YOU HAVE THE TIGER BY THE TAIL. A MASS DELETE OF PICS INSTEAD OF ONE AT A TIME.

(no avatar) Very nice improvment! What about some more national advertising? I meet so many people who have no clue about AA, would you (AA) concider providing sellers with some marketing/promotional items for me/us sellers to use at gun shows, gun club meeting etc.??? Thanks, Paul S. (BPCR)

Elitist I'll second that national advertising suggestion

I'll second that national advertising suggestion.  I see that The Other Site Whose Name May Not Be Spoken But Whose Color Is Green takes out ads in the American Rifleman every month.  Seems to me that since AA was the site that handled the NRA Foundation auctions and raised a bunch of bucks thereby, you guys ought to do the same.  And in other outdoors magazines, not just gun rags.  Try Field & Stream and see what happens.

AuctionArmsCeo More picture magic....

If you haven't noticed, I just did a major revamp on 'My Pictures'. First off, there's a new button called 'Upload Pictures - New' in 'My Pictures'. If you click on it and you're using IE, you'll be prompted to install an ActiveX control from a company called Aurigma. After the control is installed, you'll be able to see the new toy that will change how you upload pictures forever.

Basically, this tool resizes the picture BEFORE the upload, making the new upload time about a tenth as long as the old upload time. Also, we now add a small watermark to the bottom left corner of the picture - you'll see. Plus, the interface for selecting picture is about ten times easier, and looks like Windows Explorer. I've currently limited upload to 10 pictures at a time for testing. But if works smoothly, I'll increase the limit from there.

Also, in 'My Pictures', you'll notice the ability to 'Bulk Delete' pictures. Happiness and joy, I'm sure....

I'm also going to change how you add pictures to an auction. You'll be able to select your auction to add pictures to, then select as many pictures at once to be added. Much faster, but I'll let you know when that's done.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! I JUST DID A QUICK TEST AND BOY IS THIS THE GREATEST INVENTION SINCE SLICED BREAD. I JUST LOOKED AT MY MONITOR IN TOTAL AMAZEMENT HOW FAST AND EASY IT WAS AND TO TOP IT OFF MASS DELETE. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY AT THIS POINT BUT A BIG THANK YOU! I KNOW YOU JUST CREATED EXTRA TIME FOR ME TO PUT MORE AUCTIONS ON WITH THIS FEATURE.

AuctionArmsCeo I've added a way to Bulk Add pictures to your auction. Now, you can select an auction, select multiple pictures, and have them addded to that auction with a few clicks. I'll be adding a way to create a thumnail through 'My Pictures' shortly. Let me know what you think....
