(FAIRFAX, VA)- It's a first in the 135 years of the National Rifle Association.
The NRA Foundation recently went to the Web to collaborate with Auction Arms, a pioneer in the online auction of firearms, to offer firearm enthusiasts an opportunity to bid on several special edition guns-with the proceeds benefiting the foundation. This new option may signal a new wave of high tech fundraising for the foundation, and for the support of shooting sports programs nationwide. Auction Arms has generously waived its normal fees to conduct NRA AUCTIONS.
Bidding is now taking place on <http://www.auctionarms.com/> for a Beretta 12-and 20-gauge shotgun set along with an NRA commemorative Browning Buck Mark .22. This gun is the first of only 1,001 manufactured Buck Mark HI Grade firearms and bears the very special serial number: NRA-00001. Included in this prized possession will be a lockable Browning pistol rug case, a magazine, a cable lock and a letter of authenticity signed by Browning President and CEO Charles Guevremont, along with NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre.
The Beretta set is a matched pair of Model 3901 12- and 20-gauge.shotguns with serial numbers NRA-001A and NRA-001B. This set includes a handsome leather case, embossed with the Partners for the Future logo and a certificate of authenticity. The guns are the first in the Exclusive Edition grade being offered to the general public. The proceeds from this auction will go to the NRA's Partners for the Future program.
Both auctions are scheduled to close as the NRA's Annual Meetings commence on May 19 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin <(www.nraam.org).> The winners of the auction will be announced during the convention, and additional auction packages will be posted by Auction Arms later this summer.
Potential bidders can learn more about the shotgun set and the .22 by going to <http://www.auctionarms.com/> and then clicking on the NRA AUCTIONS banner.
