Can't see the Categories like they used to be? Cant see the new New Sub-categories?

We've rolled out an exciting new enhancement that customers have been asking for for a long time which allows you to see Sub-categories under each of the main categories on the AuctionArms.com home page. This enhancement makes use of something called "Java Script" In order to view and browse the new Sub-categories if you can't see them now, you'll need to be sure that you have enabled "active scripting" on your browser.

In Internet Explorer 6.0 (which the majority of our customers use, the following instructions detail how to do this. If you are using another browser and don't know how to enable active scripting, please contact the browser developer/distributor: To enable active scripting on IE 6.0:
From the menu at the top of the browser window

  • click "Tools"
  • In the window that appear locate and click on the Security Tab
  • In the Security window, click "Custom Level"
  • in the list that appears, Scroll down to:
  • Scripting
  • Active Scripting
  • click the "enable" radio button
  • Click the "ok" Button

A window will open asking "Are you sure you want to change the security setting for this zone?" Click "Yes".

Click "ok" on the button at the bottom of the Internet Options window, the window will close.

Click the refresh button or select "view" from the browser Menu bar at the top of the Internet browser, then click "Refresh".

You should now be able to see the sub categories.

After we initially rolled this new feature out, some people reported that they could no longer see the various specific categories like "Firearms: Rifle" in the left hand column. This is because they did not have the Active Scripting feature in their browser enabled. We've since corrected this so that if you don't have Java script Active Scripting enabled, you'll still see the general specific categories, but not the little "+" signs next to them denoting there are subcategories. Let support@auctionarms.com know if you are having any problems viewing the home page.
