Thread Title: "Changes to our Listing Categories...adding Sub-categories"
AA-bob Hi, Folks. Manny is rolling out a long awaited enhancement to the site this morning allowing us to place sub-categories under major category headings.

This enhancement will allow your items to be placed in specific sub-categories under each of the Major Categories, like "Firearms: Rifles: Bolt Action" or "Firearms: Rifles: Semi-Auto:".

This exciting new feature, of course, will be a major enhancement that will allow Buyers an easier way to find what they are interested in and for Sellers to list items into more specific categories for increased visibility to buyers interested in that sort of offering.

We think you'll like this new feature.

You may also notice that some old major categories are now appearing as Sub Categories. Ammunition for example will now have the Collectible Ammunition and Reloading gear and components as sub-categories.

Although we've tested this new feature extensively, while Manny is rolling this out today, you might receive an error message when you are doing your new listings as we work out the bugs.

If you get an error message while listing items, please copy and paste the error message into an email to me (bob@auctionarms.com) so we can get on correcting the bug in a hurry.

We think you'll like this new upgrade, let us know what you think.

(no avatar) Well, Bob, as one who specializes in the collectible ammo, I can't say I much like having the category submerged in ammunition. I've acquired many new clients from AA over the past six years who were unaware of a market for this material outside of what they might stumble across at the gun show. Hopefully others in the future would have the inspiration / initiative to dig into the "ammunition" heading to the subcategory, but I have some reservations as to the long term impact on my particular niche. I might add that I'm not alone in this assessment. We hope we're proved wrong.

(no avatar) AA Manny, could you show the sub-categories under AMMUNITION, ie: Reloading Equipment, Collectable Ammunition etc., so everyone will know where to look? Right now it appears there isn't any section for reloading items or Collectable Ammunition. Thanks! Bill

AA-bob

Yone, of course I'm not meaning to take credit for this idea, more in the nature of letting everyone know it's ready...we've had requests for this enhancement for a long while from many of our great and wonderful users and we thought it was a pretty good idea. Some things just seem to take longer than others, what with the competing needs, development, code writting and testing issues. but we do listen to you all and eventually get to the good ideas and get them into production.

Thanks, Yone, and thanks to everyone for their good ideas. Please keep 'em coming. Some of the ideas may not make the grade, and some will, but we are always open to suggestions and appreciate the interest of our users!

The only REAL bad idea is the one you haven't told us about.

(no avatar) AA BOB--- I was just teasing. I just brought up the firearms section and it only shows a few guns in each catagory. I assume as time goes on that will improve. Tks
