Comments: First off, I'll keep the rifle. However, my USMC armorer tells me this is not a USMC rifle b/c of things he has to fix. He had to replace the guide rod and he had some clean-up on the receiver. He believes this was a US Navy rifle due to the rear lug. USMC did two lugs or no lugs.

Rebuttal: I'm glad this gentleman was happy enough to keep the rifle but certainly wish that he'd seen fit to let me know of any problems with the gun. I'm a pretty reasonable guy but I can't help if I'm not told of an issue.

Comments: This transaction was snake-bit from the beginning. First,USPS lost the money order; The rifle was a little less than described. That having been said, the seller did everything he could to help. I think he is very honest. If I buy again, I would not hesitate to buy from jackthedog

Rebuttal: I guess you can't make everybody happy, no matter what you do. I offered a refund since I did miss a minor item on the gun (a small spot of corrosion under the stock)...but he insisted on keeping the $280 Rem 700BDL. He says I'm honest and he'd buy from me again...but he gives me a Neutral?

Comments: Beware of the mechanics of the guns sold--I bought the above item in which the Double Action did not work on the Revolver--the cylinder times were almost completely worn off--make sure you ask specific/detailed questions before bidding !! The trigger assembly on the gun--the PINS WERE FALLING OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE RECEIVER--TOP OF GUN HAD 2 DEEP SCRAPES quarter of an inch deep into the metal--this also was not disclosed--OF THE THREE ITEMS MENTIONED ABOVE NONE OF THESE WERE DISCLOSED !!! I BELIEVE IN BEING HONEST TO THE BUYER AND DISCLOSING ALL BAD MECHANICS/COSMETICS OR ANY OF THE ABOVE--IT ONLY BOUNCES BACK TO YOU--WHICH THE GUN DID BOUNCE BACK TO HIM AFTER 5 DAYS HE DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK???!!! IT TOOK HIM 2 DAYS TO ANSWER MY FIRST E-MAIL THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM???!!!HE WAS BELIGERENT IN TAKING IT BACK COD AND COMPENSATING FOR THE OVERCHG IN S/H--NO INSURANCE OR TRACKING NUMBER AS I MIGHT AD--NEVER HEARD OF SHIPPING ANY FIREARMS W/O INSURANCE OR A TRACKING NUMBER--I'M SURE THE FFL BUREAU WOULD BE IMPRESSED--IT WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST !!!

Rebuttal: waveridr33 made our transaction very difficult from the beginning. He sent unfriendly emails before the auction even closed. When the gun was shipped the double action DID work, and the minor scratches certainly were not 1/4 inch deep. This was a curio/relic gun that started bidding at $20.00, no reserve, for goodness sake! When he decided he didn't want the gun, he insisted that I take it back C.O.D. (and pay the shipping) which I reluctantly agreed to do. This, of course, gave me no opportunity to inspect the firearm which turned out to NOT be in the condition it was sent. Waveridr33 received a neutral from me even before I got the gun back and I feel his remark is simply retaliation. I answered every email as I received it and even accepted the gun back C.O.D. - this person just cannot be satisfied! The gun was shipped legally via USPS Priority Mail, with no insurance requested. The "FFL Bureau" (BATF) has no problem with USPS shipments between licensed individuals. waveridr33 got his money back but will not be welcome to bid in any more of my auctions. I suggest discretion in dealing with this individual.
