Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Savage -- 24C Series S 22LR/20 ga Camper Combo Gun w/ Case

This item is a Savage 24, Series S Camper's Companion takedown combination gun. They don't make them like this any more! And this is a nice one! It features the original factory 20-inch barrels arranged over/under style, with 22LR up top and 20 gauge (3-inch chamber) below, and this auction includes the original factory issued takedown case, which has a few marks on the surface. Game scenes engraved on each side of the receiver. The bores are in excellent condition, bright and shiny, the 22 rifling looks really sharp. The butt plate, trapdoor, extractors, sights, the hammer mounted barrel selector and everything else are all original factory and completely functional. You can use the iron sites and/or install a scope on the factory grooves. The wood has it's original finish and is very nice, with just a very few small rubs on the surface, can be seen in the last two photos. The pictures make it look much worse than it actually is, and I believe that these marks could very easily be removed with just a bit of elbow grease. There are no extra holes drilled in the forend, butt, nor anywhere else on the gun. The metal finishes are really nice, near perfect. This weapon shows very little wear, not much use at all. I don't believe it has ever been in the woods, just a few rubs while in a gun safe.

This is a used piece, manufactured maybe in the late '70s or in the '80s, but it is in excellent shape, and in perfect working order. This is an excellent choice of weapon for a youngster or smaller framed person, for plinking, target shooting, or hunting small game, birds, varments, predators, etc, even turkey and deer. Lots of versatility here, as was its original survival oriented design.

I am not an FFL, nor do I have to be as I am selling from my personal collection. However the buyer must work with an FFL for the transfer of the firearm. However, this does add another cost of $30 for my dealer's services, which the buyer will have to be responsible for.
