Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Colt -- Anaconda, 44 Magnum, 8 inch barrel

This is a Colt Anaconda in 44 Magnum, and it has an 8 inch barrel. It comes with its original factory blue-colored plastic box with the original Colt label still attached. The Colt Anaconda was manufactured between 1990-1999. This revolver is stainless steel. It has the factory black rubber grips with the Colt monogram, and there is an additional set of Hogue Monogrip black rubber stocks included in their original packaging. Included as extras are two HKS #29 speedloaders with an Uncle Mike's Sidekick pouch, an Uncle Mike's Sidekick holster that is built to accomodate a scope, a Bushnell waterproof stainless 2-6X32 scope with lense covers, and a set of Bushnell stainless steel mounts with screws. This revolver has been fired, but the owner took excellent care of it by subjecting it to a thorough cleaning whenever if was fired. There are some very minor scratches on the sideplate area of the revolver near the Colt monogram, and also on the opposite side. The owner attributes these scratches to the Hogue grips. These scratches can be polished out by a competent gunsmith. The rifling in the barrel is sharp, and appears to be in new condition. The cylinder charge holes are clean and show any signs of abuse. Overall the revolver shows some minor handling marks from usage such as the turn ring on the cylinder. The barrel is ported with five holes on each side of the barrel. The revolver has a red ramp front sight, and a white outline rear sight. Trigger pull in single action is very light, and double-action is flawless. The original spacer disc between the cylinder and recoil shield is also present. I have been an FFL Dealer since 1982, and sell only quality firearms. Questions for Users
Q:  Any closer pictures that show the scratchs on both side plates that you note can be taken out by a gunsmith? I have owned Anacondas with Hogue grips and I have never had any scratches on the side plates from the grips so I am trying to determine the nature and depth of the scratches. Thanks Doug 07/29/2010
A:  I hope that you have received my reply through regular e-mail, but in case you haven't I can only say what the owner of the revolver told me. I only suggested using a gunsmith to remove the scratches because I do not know the capabilities of prospective buyers. As we both know some can do more than others, and I am not saying this to sound rude or ignorant. I have had some stainless steel S&W revolvers with worse scratches that I was able to remove with some fine steel wool and light oil, but someone else might try a different method. As far as providing other pictures, I'll ask my daughter because she knows how to do that, but if you want to call me please do so at 570-648-7476 or provide me with your number, and I'll give you a call. Thanks for looking and inquiring. Dave 07/29/2010
