Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Colts Patents Arms Manufacturing Company -- Colt Model 1857 Revolver, .22 Short ANTIQUE

Gun: This is a Colt model 1857 Open Top revolver in .22 short. This model is also known as the “Old Line”. The barrel length is 2 3/8". The frame is brass and the barrel and cylinder are nickel plated. The grips are smooth Walnut and the Serial Number 19936. The serial number matches on both the barrel and frame. There is an “L” on the breech side of the cylinder. This is one of 114,000 manufactured by Colt between 1871-1877.

Condition: This example is fully functional and shows almost no flaking or pitting to the nickel; approximately 80% of what appears to be the original nickel finish is retained. There are dings on barrel and grips from handling. The brass is in good condition with nice aged patina over a very old polish. The grips are excellent with no losses and the majority of the original finish. You encounter these fairly often, but not in this strong a condition.
