S&W 9mm 5906 Steel Stainless Exc Refin 2 Mags. More than any other variant, this specimen represents the most desirable form of all 5900 Smith & Wessons. This is the 5906, the highest form that a standard production model 59 descendant reached. Construction is entirely stainless steel, down to the classic .260 serrated spur hammer and .304 smooth combat trigger. This specimen’s serial number range dates it to about 1995. Sights are Novak low profile 3 dot, and the sights are the only area that show any holster wear, moderate whitening on the sight edges and dulling to the dot inserts. This pistol has been completely refinished by our good friends at DGS Custom Gunsmithing in Millington, Tennessee, and it’s as good as anybody’s Certified Pre-Owned. Finish is completely satin stainless with round serrated trigger guard. Grips are new, sure-gripping Hogues. Package includes a new factory Smith & Wesson blue carrying case, factory S&W Red cable lock, and a total of two magazines. Magazines are both later production, orange follower 15 round Law Enforcement magazines from the ban period that ended in 2005. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent, note that bushing contact evidence on the muzzle area of the barrel is only moderate. We estimate that this 5906 has been fired only 600 to 700 rounds, annual qualification. The distinctive configuration of the barrel and the full-length stainless steel guide rod made these among the most accurate 9mms ever produced. Weight empty is 37 1/2 ounces. Own this excellent steel frame stainless Smith & Wesson 5906 simply by being the strongest bidder on its Auction Arms auction. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, Cleveland OH, Cincinnati, D.C., Massachusetts, or NYC. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where the 15 round magazines are restricted, we will include two comparable ban-period 10 round magazines. Affected jurisdictions include Aurora Il, Hawaii, New York, and Toledo OH. See our Ammo Listings on Auction Arms.
