Gun: this is a 26" Marlin model 410 lever action shotgun. Marlin only made about 6,500 of these guns between 1929 and 1932. The magazine will hold 5 .410 shells. The serial number is 3604, and this is found on the stock and bottom tang. The gun is fully function, and the action feels good.
Condition: The gun has a beautiful appearance, retaining about 80% original finish turning to a medium patina. The wood to metal fit at the stock is superb, the wood sits slightly proud of the metal. The buttplate is slightly oversized, and I do not know if it has been replaced, if the stock shrank or maybe the stock has been sanded. The LOP is 13.5" and the bore is very good with not noticeable pits or erosion. The gun is parts original, except for perhaps the buttplate with is marked Marlin.
