Pair of Nowotny 12.5mm target or dueling pistols sold by G. Laute of Berlin. They do have rear sights. Numbered 1 & 2. The Nowotnys were a famous family of gunmakers in the middle 19th century in Germany and Austria. These pistols have ebony stocks and extensive gold and platinum inlays. They look like they had been silver plated. As usual with German pistols of the time they have the requisite gargoyles and serpents in the engraving and stock carving.
