Up for auction is this neat little Hamilton model-27, .22-short caliber rifle. Made by C.J. Hamilton & son, in Plymouth, Mich., around the turn of the century. 16-1/4-inch barrel, with standard sights. Bore is good, but showing light pitting and oxidation. Bluing rates 60%, with light overall oxidation, minor pitting, and wear. Wood showing scratches, dings, and some minor cracks. Butt showing some wood rot, from coming in contact with moisture. Area is still solid, and could be sanded out. This little rifle looks good and seems to function fine. I will need a FFL to ship to, or a C&R is OK on this rifle. Please be advised that we have visually inspected this rifle, but we have not test fired it. As with any firearm, please have them checked out by a competent gunsmith before attempting to fire them. Please be aware of all firearm related laws in your state before bidding. Remember that ignorance of the law is no excuse. This rifle carries the usual 3-day non-firing inspection.
