Seller's Description

VINTAGE CROSMAN 140 Blued Hardwood, 1960s ERA

From Estate: Vintage & gorgeous, classic CROSMAN Model 140 Air Rifle, still in very good overall condition, from back in the early 1960s era. Quite functional & powerful, this vintage hardwood & steel beauty measures about 35 1/2" OAL and appears to have been little, if ever, much used.(See Photos) Barrel & receiver, as well as pump lever & tube, plus trigger & guard are of steel with classic "blued" finish of course. Receiver sleeve, which rolls over & pulls back to expose feed ramp inside, is clearly marked: "Crosman 140" ... "Fairport, N.Y. U.S.A." ... ".22 cal" as you'd expect, and the .22 caliber barrel has turned a gorgeous plum brown with typical freckles & dark spots to surface. There are NO significant nicks, dings, dents, corrosion, or other "problems" visible on the metal parts or surfaces. Rifled bore looks very good inside still, and this vintage Crosman #140 shoots hard & true. Rifle is still in superb and quite function condition for shooting or display.(See Photos) The hardwood stock appears to be of solid Beech with a original, factory finish. The forearm & rear stock fit smoothly and were obviously cut from the same, nicely grained piece of wood. Stock is also fitted with the original, factory butt pad, plus sports 1960s era red & white spacers. There are NO visible cracks, splits, dings, dents, or unsightly repairs to the stock, though a few insignificant nicks & scratches from honest use over the years are visible under close inspection. Probably a "Third Variation" Model #140, judging by style & materials, this vintage Crosman 140is about as good as they come half a Century after the fact we'd guess. Weight is a bit over four & three quarter (4 3/4) pounds just as shown here. We oiled the lever & piston as per factory specs, stroked her up with three pumps, and fired this arm half a dozen times at targets, then put in three and let her rest here in the office for weeks ... a charge which this arm has held for weeks now, so the seals are fine. Just gorgeous & functional any way you look at it.(See Photos)Recently purchased at Estate, Grandpa was using this classic, open sighted Crosman #140 on pests & critters around the house and it was said to have taken down many an Iguana here in the Keys, though it has long rested in the gun safe. Missing one of these oldie-but-goodie Crosman 140s from your private collection or vintage display area? Always wanted a Crosman 140 of this style & type anyway? Well look no further 'cause this vintage 140 is the real deal, still in superb overall condition, for the astute buyer or collector. It probably doesn't get much better than this classic oldie Crosman ... so it's really a no-brainer. Vintage & gorgeous, classic CROSMAN MODEL 140 Air Rifle from back in the early 1960s era (exactly as shown) is hereby offered to collectors, aficionados, and other interested parties. Get it while you can ...
