NO RESERVE!! Here's a Steyr manufactured Mannlicher-Schornauer Model 1903 Carbine. Chammbered for the 6.5x54 MS cartridge, this handy little weapon wears the 17.7" barrel, has a 5-shot rotary magazine, double set triggers, and the two-leaf rear sight. It is topped with a Sirius G.4x scope in classic German style claw mounts with push-button release. Overall condition is very good however it appears that this rifle was likely a WWII "bring-back" and the forend was duffle-cut for the soldier's return trip to the USA. Rather than splicing the wood back together, some ebony was added to the the joint and the stock left 2-piece with the forward section well retained by the swivel mount and noce cap. The stock was sanded and refinished at this time and the checkering is smooth. There are no cracks however the trigger guard, which is made of buffalo horn, was broken and a screw added to the rear to secure it. The forward part of the trigger guard is still loose. The metal finish is very good and there is no rust or pitting, just thinning to the magazine bottom. The mechanics appear to be in good working order with the set triggers working properly. The bore is very good and is bright with strong rifling and no visible pitting. The scope mount allows use of iron sights when in place and works great...the scope comes on and off easily and is rock solid when installed. The scope shows minor finish wear but the optics are quite sharp. Overall, a very nice Mannlicher Schoenauer Carbine. Buyer pays $25.00 shipping. Your C&R License is acceptable for transfer.
