Here is a very nice example of a MODEL 1858, STARR, DOUBLE ACTION, 44 caliber revolver. This is a 6 shot percussion revolver. There were approximately 23,000of these revolvers made from the late 1850's to the early 1860's and most went to the US Army and saw action in the CIVIL WAR. Next to the COLT and the REMINGTON, the STARR was the third most used revolver in the war. This one is in fine condition with matching numbers, clear markings, extensive military inspectors stammps and excellent cartouches on both grips, The action works perfectly, with lock up and time as new. The bore is nice with sharp rifling and some minor roughness that should clean up with a good scrubbing. The metal surfaces have a nice even patina with traces of finish in protected areas. The nipples are all in excellent condition. This is a very nice revolver with CIVIL WAR use. This is an ANTIQUE, so NO FFL is needed. Please include $25 shipping. NO RESERVE!!!
