The lovely little Rossi .410 Single Shots have always charmed us all since their introduction in the 1990s. Here is Rossi's latest variant, the Tuffy. At only 3 pounds, it weighs less than lots of handguns; in fact, we might argue that they are better balanced than their fellow Brazilian, the Taurus Judge. This Rossi Tuffy sports a water-resistant Nickel Finish and waterproof synthetic stock and forend. Overall length is a compact 29 1/2 inches, with a 10 inch length of pull from the trigger to the end of the buttstock; this shotgun could be fired from the shoulder with some awkwardness by even long-armed folk like our photographer, more comfortably by lighter and more compact individuals. We hope no one has little enough sense to cut the stock at the pistol grip; that would constitute a felony under the NFA Act of 1933. The Tuffy is equipped with a easy-to-access, easy-to-operate safety lever on its left side, and even with Taurus's patented hammer lock and two keys. Choke constriction is Modified, and the photo specimen had a muzzle constriction of .388 inches, good enough for tree rodents in our neck of the woods. Winning buyer will get the Tuffy in the photo or one of its identical mates. For weight, appearance and safety features, this Rossi Braztech Tuffy beats its New England and Turkish Competitors hands down. With those two specific competitors, the NEF Tamer and the Snake Charmer commanding prices of $200 apiece or more.
