Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Mauser -- Mauser Commercial P.O. Ackley,7x57 sporter

This is a Commercial Mauser sporter with a 24 inch, P.O. Ackley barrel in caliber 7x57 Mauser. It has a nice monte carlo style stock and has Weaver bases installed. This rifle has a hinged floor plate, a low scope safety and bolt handle. This rifle is in overall fine condition with an excllent bore. From the previous owner"This 7x57 started life as a Wards Model 720-B in .30-06. I rebarreled it with the P.O. Ackley 7x57 take-off barrel. The 720-B is a commercial Mauser manufactured by F.W. Heym in W. Germany. (These were imported by Montgomery Wards back in the '60's and perhaps early '70's.) (F.W. Heym builds stellar quality rifles and shotguns...) I removed the barrel from a P.O. Ackley Mauser because it was a "Santa Barbara" action which I dislike because I think they are lesser quality than the F.W. Heym and also the F.W. Heym is a medium length L/R action. And the S/B is a full length action. I thought the two mated up to be excellent combination. However, I have more 7x57's than I need." Examine the photos as they show the rifle very well. Ask any questions before bidding. Buyer pays $20 shipping to signed FFL. This firearm is on display in my shop and subject to sale there if no bid has been placed. The usual three day NON-shooting inspection applies.I am a full time gunsmith/shop with regular shop hours. I accept certified checks, money orders,Visa/Master card/Discover,(over the phone with 2% card fee) I try to ship next business day. Long guns go UPS ground, handguns go Priority mail. Arrangements can be made to pick up in the shop.Michigan residents must pay sales tax and do 4473 form.     Q:  WOULD YOU SELL IT NOW FOR THE START? ccstradegmail***GunAuction*** 09/06/2009
A:  This rifle is a consignment for a customer,so the auction has to run it's course. 09/08/2009

Q:  Hi, Has the headspace been checked on this rifle? Can you tell what kind of trigger is on the rifle (original Mauser, new replacement, etc.)? Is this (or any of your auctions) subject to trade/partial trade? Thanks in advance. Allen 09/07/2009
A:  The rifle has been test fired to examine the fired case and it shows sign of any problems. I will pull the action out of the stock and check the trigger. I do not usually take trades on internet sales. 09/08/2009

Q:  sir is the chamber an ackly improved? how is the throat? what kind of finish is on the barrel, any rust on the reciever barrel or bore, what kind of trigger, barrel twist, regards jon. 09/07/2009
A:  This rifle is the standard 7x57 Mauser caliber,NOT the improved. I'm not sure what you are asking as far as the throat is concerned,it appears to be fine, showing no wear. If you want to know throat length I'll have to measure it. It shows no rust on the barrel or action. I have checked the barrel and it is a 1 in 9 twist. I will have to pull the action out of the stock to look at the trigger. 09/08/2009
