Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Echeverria, Star-Bonifacio SA -- Spanish Star .22 semi-auto pistol

Spanish-made Star .22 semi-automatic pistol. Because it has a 4-inch barrel, a slide stop and an adjustable rear sight I believe this is the Star Model FR, manufactured between 1967 and 1972 by Echeverria Star-Bonifacio SA (there is no obvious marking that I can find to tell you what the model is). It has a ten-shot magazine, black plastic grips, and shiny nickel or chrome plating. The plating has a few spots, light scuffs and scratches, and so I have classified the pistol as 'good', but really, underneath the metal looks to be in very good shape. I have fired this one a half-dozen times and it has always worked reliably. A nice, handy little .22 with the pleasant heft of an all-steel pistol.

Questions for Users
Q:  The model is listed on the bottom of the grips by the mag well. You need to turn the gun upside down and look at the mag well. 08/29/2009
A:  Many thanks for the tip. It did not occur to me to look closely at the bottom of the grip. It is indeed a Model FR. 08/29/2009
Q:  hi. KJCVT My question is : this Star model FR, the grips it's n't original for this pistol, maybe for other Star model? do you can see the grips at other auction a Auction arms. Thanks Kingbear 08/30/2009
A:  Hi, Kingbear: I checked the auction you referenced (Item# 9300103) and note that the grips are different and look like they are a better fit for the Model FR than the ones on the FR pistol I am selling. All I can tell you is that the grips on mine came with the gun (it was a gift I received 20 years ago). On the plus side, the FR I am offering is selling for a lot less. 08/31/2009
Q:  You did not mention the unusual slide safety! The rear roll safety! Its quite unusual and factory! Mine has one as well.Only very few Stars have it!!! 08/31/2009
A:  Hi, Salladin, and thanks for pointing out the unusual rolling safety in the back of the slide that blocks the hammer from striking the firing pin. Sort of a back-up safety for the pistol (there's already slide-lock safety on the frame, under the hammer). I did not realize that it was an unusual feature on FR pistols. My lack of background research on Star pistols is kind of showing through on this auction, eh? 08/31/2009
Q:  I,d say its quite rare in 50 years of collecting I,ve only seen 3. 08/31/2009
A:  Again, thanks for letting me (and interested bidders) know about this! 09/01/2009
