Up for auction is this Hopkins & Allen underhammer percussion muzzleloader rifle in the .45-caliber. sold by the Numrich Arms Corp., out of New York. 32-1/4-inch round bull barrel, measuring 1-1/8-inch across the muzzle. Bore showing good rifling at the muzzle, but I have no way of checking the rest of the bore. Has a Marble rear sight. Bluing at 60%, with heavy wear, buffed areas, and scratches. Barrel and receiver showing areas of oxidation and light pitting. Stocks showing repairs where it meets the receiver,(still solid). Butt plate is a replacement, as it does not fit very well. Forearm is excellent, could be a replacement, as the finish does not match the stock. Ramrod is a replacement, as it will not stay secured,(falls out it you point the muzzle down). This underhammer muzzleloader looks decent, is nice and tight, and functions fine. As the barrel on this thing is quite heavy, shipping will be a little extra. As this muzzleloader is considered a antique, no FFL is required, can be shipped right to your door. However, I do require a copy of a photo ID indicating legal age. Please be advised that we have visually inspected this rifle, but we have not test fired it. As with any firearm, please have them checked out by a competent gunsmith before attempting to fire them. Please be aware of all firearm related laws in your state before bidding. Remember that ignorance of the law is no excuse. This rifle carries the usual 3-day non-firing inspection. Returns accepted with a full refund, less shipping charges. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.
