Here is a nice 11 MM .43 caliber Dutch Beaumont Rifle, see photos. This old rifle is actually in nice condition, these rifles were always in the white, they never had bluing, I see some light pitting in small spots. This rifle is dated 1885 on the barrel is dated 1884. The bolt does not match the barrel. There are lots of proof marks. The bore is shiny, very nice, nicer than most, the action works nice and smooth like all Beaumonts. The wood is in very good plus condition but it has been refinished and revarnished. The cleaning rod looks original, just a fine old Dutch Beaumont. Overall length is 52 inches. It will looks nice hanging on your wall and the nice part, it sells with no reserve to the high bidder. INTERESTING FACTS: Germany (Prussia) officially adopted the Mauser in 1871. At that time all other European nations increased their manufacturing of the rifle. Beaumont, who was a Dutch engineer produced a single shot bolt rifle using the 11 mm cartridge. The Beaumont had a specially designed "V-Spring" in the bolt handle which made the strike work. Holland adopted the design.
