From Estate in New England: Vintage & a classic, oldie Benjamin-Franklin Model #312 Air Rifle, still in functional condition, from back in the 1950s/'60s era. Model #312 is of course of .22 caliber, pump pneumatic type with bronze tube & reciever, blued steel bolt & trigger guard, and straight-grain American Walnutd stocks. Rifle measures approx. 35" OAL and features classic "Tootsie Roll" forearm on pump lever, blackened overall metal finish, and a clear varnished finish on the Walnut stocks.Left side of the reciever is clearly marked: "Benjamin Franklin" ... "Made In U.S.A." ... with serial number "H946504" ... while right side reads: "Cal .22 Model 312" ... "Cock Hammer To Release Safety". Finally, the flat plate on the back end of the pump tube is marked: "Benjamin Air Rifle Co." ... "St. Louis, U.S.A." as well(See Photos) This vintage rifle still cocks, pumps up, holds air, and shoots with good power, but it does have some minor issues that need to be addressed as follows: *1) The rear sight & & bolt cover plate have "gone missing" over the years (easily replaced) **2) there is a ground-out chip in the left side of the forend for thumb grip (added by original owner) and both forend & rear butt syock could stand to be refinished ***3 there is a ground-out relief on the lower side of the pump tube to allow the riveted forearm to pass without catching (also added by the previous owner after replacement of the factory rivet)... but that's about it! Otherwise, this vintage Model 312 is still in fairly good overall condition and quite functional. Weight is approx. three & three quarter (3 3/4) pounds as swown here.(See Photos)Recently purchased at Estate here in the Rhode Island where Grandpa apparently used it on varmints around a sizeable property, though it has long been set aside in a closet. We were very pleased to get this vintage Model 312 ... as we know you will be too.
