Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - CARL GUSTAFS-SWEDEN -- MAUSER RIFLE/94 CARBINE/SWEDISH MAUSER/6.5X55

C & R ELIGIBLE. If you observe a photo that is not clear, right click your mouse and choose "refresh page". UP FOR BID IS MY SWEDISH MOD.94 CARBINE IN CAL-6.5X55. IT WAS BORN IN THE CARL GUSTAFS FACILITY IN 1907. THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 41189. ALL VISIBLE NUMBERS FOUND ARE MATCHING TO THE SERIAL NUMBER WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE WALNUT STOCK. RECIEVER, BOLT, BARREL, BOLT STOP, REAR SITE IN 3 PLACES, AND TRIGGER GROUP HAVE "189". MOST PARTS THAT ARE NOT NUMBERED BEAR THE STAMP OF THE SLANTED CROWN HOWEVER THE BUTTPLATE HAS NO STAMPED NUMBER OR SLANTED CROWN. THIS CARBINE BEGAN LIFE AS A MODEL 94. IN 1914 SWEDE ARMORERS RECONFIGURED SOME OF THE MODEL 94'S BY ADDING A STEEL FLOOR PLATE THAT FITS INDER THE FRONT BOTTOM SIDE OF THE STOCK WITH A BAYONET STUD ATTACHED TO THE END. THIS WAS DONE SO THAT THE SWEDISH M-14 BAYONET COULD BE ATTACHED WHEN NEEDED. THUS THE 94 BECOMES THE 94/14 CARBINE. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RECONFIGURED GUNS. THE STOCK IS DARK WALNUT AND HAS VERY FEW HANDLING MARKS AS IT WAS MOST LIKELY FITTED TO THIS RIFLE AT A RE-WORK STATION SHORTLY BEFORE THE FIREARM WAS DE-COMMISSIONED AND WAREHOUSED. THERE IS A SPOT ON THE STOCK WHERE THE REAR OF THE RECIEVER BUTTS UP AGAINST THE WOOD AND CAN BE SEEN IN THIS PHOTO[#6 PHOTO IN ROTATION]. THERE APPEARS TO BE A CRACK IN THE STOCK THAT HAS FORMED AN OBLONG CIRCLE ABOUT 3/4" IN LENGTH AND 1/4" WIDTH. THE SMALL CIRCULAR CHUNK OF WOOD IS SLIGHTLY RAISED AND LOOKS AS IF IT COULD POSSIBLY SEPARATE FROM THE STOCK IF THE RIFLE WERE SHOT VERY MUCH. BACK YEARS AGO WHEN IMPORTERS WERE SELLING SURPLUS RIFLES TO THE USA THERE WAS A STAUNCH BARREL LENGTH REGULATION THAT HAD TO BE ADHERED TO. SWEDE CARBUNES DID NOT MEET THE LENGTH REQUIREMENT. SO IMPORTERS DID WHAT THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE, THEY IMPROVISED. A BARREL EXTENSION WAS ADDED ON TO THE END OF THE ISSUE BARREL AND THUS MADE THE CARBINES LONG ENOUGH TO GET IN TO AMERICA. YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE BARREL EXTENSION IN THIS PHOTO[#9 PHOTO IN ROTATION] WITH THE STOCK REMOVED IF YOU LOOK CLOSE. THE DIAMETER OF THE BARREL EXTENSION IS GREATER THAN THAT OF THE ISSUE BARREL AND NECESSITATES THAT THE BORE CLEANING BE DONE FROM THE CHAMBER END OF THE BARREL. THE BLUING IS APPROX 95% WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FLOOR PLATE WHICH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN RUBBED OFF AND IS MOTTLED. THERE IS A UNIT DISC PRESENT THAT HAS THE INSCRIPTION"I 89" OVER THE NUMBER "1003" WHICH MEANS THAT THIS RIFLE WAS ASSIGNED TO THE SWEDISH ARMY TO THE 89th INFANTERI AND THE CARBINE IS RIFLE UNIT NUMBER "1003". THE BORE HAS GOOD STRONG RIFLING WHEN VIEWED WITH BORE LIGHT AND THERE IS SOME SHINE AS WELL AS SOME FROST ON THE LANDS. I DO NOT HAVE MY RIFLE CLEANING KIT WITH ME AT THIS LOCATION BUT I THINK A GOOD SCRUBBING IS IN ORDER AND MIGHT HELP THAT SITUATION. I HAVE OWNED THIS RIFLE FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER FIRED IT. I AM A FONDLER MORE THAN A SHOOTER. THE STOCK CRACK AND BORE ARE JUST AS THEY WERE WHEN IT ARRIVED. THIS WAS MY VERY FIRST 94 CARBINE AND I WASN'T ABOUT TO GIVE UP THE LITTLE SWEDE 94 THAT I HAD LUSTED AFTER FOR YEARS. AT THE TIME I BOUGHT THIS ONE THERE WERE NONE[94 carbines]TO BE FOUND ON THE SURPLUS MARKET AND I LITERALLY WAITED A COUPLE OF YEARS FOR THIS ONE. I'VE SINCE BOUGHT SEVERAL 94'S OVER THE YEARS. I AM MOVING MY ENTIRE 20 YEAR COLLECTION OF MAUSERS AS THE TIME HAS COME TO TURN THEM OUT. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS AND BID ACCORDINGLY BUT BID WITH CONFIDENCE.
