Here's an American Eagle Tribute Pistol, which is a Colt .45 ACP Government Model 1911. The pistol is finished blue with rosewood grips and has an etched 24-karat gold eagle inlay with a pure silver eagle's head on both sides of the slide and frame. The bushing, sights, hammer, slide release and grip screws are gold plated. The gun comes with it's presentation case, white gloves and a Certificate of Authenticity. The gun appears to be unfired and is in excellent condition. The Certificate of Authenticity states that this gun was issued to Charles F. Ganss and is number 248 of 2500 (see photos).
The gun is in excellent condition with blue at 99% and the gold and silver eagle inlay and gold hardware also at 99%. There are a few very-thin light scratches in the gold eagle and silver eagle's head on the left-side of the gun. There's also some thin, light scratches on the sides of the magazine and trigger from the gun being handled. Both rosewood grips are also in excellent condition and look like-new except for one small chip, below the Colt medallion in the right-grip (see photos).
As mentioned, the gun comes with it's presentation case, certificate of authenticity, key for the presentation case lock and cardboard slip-top shipping box. The top of the display case is inset with leather which is stamped in gold and silver with the symbol of the American Eagle. The inside top of the case has the American Flag and the bottom inside of the case has a blue lining that is cut-out for the gun with a brass plaque engraved with "AMERICAN EAGLE" and an American Eagle insignia.
The outside of the presentation case has a few small handing marks and the top of the presentation case is cracked in three spots on each side of the leather inset (see photos). The right-corner of the leather inset is starting to "lift" slightly away from the case (see photos). There are some small wear spots in the blue lining on the inside of the case and the edges of the cutout for the gun have some wear, otherwise the lining is in good condition with no rips or tears (see photos). There are two scratches in the brass plaque mounted in the bottom inside of the case and the white gloves are oil stained but do not have any rips or tears. Even with the handling marks mentioned, the presentation case with it's blue lining, American flag and blue steel and gold pistol make for a beautiful display (see photos).
Overall, the American Eagle Tribute Pistol is in excellent condition both mechanically and in appearance. Serial #2734608. STK. #14484.
