This is a Browning Nomad .22LR semi-auto pistol. The Nomad was manufactured in Belgium from 1962 - 1974. The gun utilizes a 10 shot removable magazine and has a steel frame with a 6-3/4" barrel and adjustable rear sight. The bore is in excellent condition, with crisp rifling. The gun is finished blue and has checkered black plastic grips. We do not have the box or any papers for this gun, the auction is for the gun only.
Blue on the pistol is 95%. There are some spots of pitting in the barrel and slide. The blue is gone from a few of the spots where the rust was removed (see photos). There are no spots of pitting in the sides and bottom of the frame, but there is some surface rust in the corners of the trigger guard (see photos). The grips have a few small scratches in them and there are a few small nicks in the right-side grip. There's also some nicks in the bottom of the right-side grip and a few scratches in the bottom of the grips, otherwise the grips are in good condition with no cracks (see photos). The pistol utilizes a bottom magazine release and comes with it's original Browning 10 shot magazine, which is stamped ".22 LR. BROWNING" on the floor plate.
We did not test-fire this gun, but it appears to be fully function and in good working order. Overall this pistol is in excellent condition mechanically and good to very good in appearance. Serial #36405P70. STK. #14468.
This Browning Nomad would make a nice Saturday afternoon plinker or it would work great for varmint control!
