Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Smith & Wesson -- S&W .357 w/ box Mod 19-3

Smith & Wesson S&W .357 Magnum 6" w/ box Mod 19-3 Better than 95% and I'm conservative. Hard to find with box and I have seen these up to $1200 w/box. #2K26708 Reasonable Reserve The S&W Model 19 is a revolver produced by Smith & Wesson chambered in .357 Magnum on its K-frame platform. The K-frame is considerably smaller and lighter than the original N-frame .357, usually known as the S&W Model 27.

Questions for Users
Q:  Sure looks like that box is for a "N" frame gun. Did you measure from the face of the cycl. to the end of the barrel? Thanks 02/06/2009
        A:  No I didn't your probaly right Thanks 02/06/2009
Q:  you may want to reconsider your auction. This most assuredly an "N" frame" box. The value should be reconsidered. 02/07/2009
A:  The Gun is a Model 19-3 on K frame the box came with it the question if it's original I posted even if it's in question Thanks 02/07/2009
Q:  Hi, This Model 19 definately is a 6 inch barrel, and the box is for an N frame revolver like the Model 27 you make reference to. The only Model 19 revolvers that ever came from the factory in presentation boxes are the commemoratives, and this is supported in many reference books. Also, the Patridge front sight looks like it was painted with something because these are always black. The sight configuration with a white outline rear sight and a Patridge front sight is extraordinary, and more than likely the white outline rear sight was added after coming out of the factory. I don't know how many of these you saw that you make reference to, but if they are factory, they are worth a bundle especially if the claim can be supported by a factory letter, which any collector would prize for insuring such a rare S&W. I wish you nothing but success with your auction, and hope you get a good bid, but this S&W has some problems with its description and what it really is. Also, please do not take this as negative criticism because I am thinking that you are an honest man, and are only putting down what you were told. Dave 02/08/2009
A:  Thank you very much I don't take offense at all. The box was included in a collection but with no additioal papers. It's an odd and unusual piece. The gun itself is a solid piece no problems just the box with it is curious Thanks Again Doug 02/08/2009
