Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Russian -- M44 MOSIN NAGANT CARBINE 762 X 54R - 1944

This is a Russian Mosin-Nagant M44 Carbine chambered in 7.62x54Rmm Russian and manufactured at Izhevsk in 1944. The rifle has Izhevsk arsenal marks with the date on top of the receiver ring. This is an import gun with the left-side of the receiver engraved with the serial number and "RUSSIA M44 7.62X54 Aztec Ocala Fl" (see photos).

The rifle has it's original front dove tail, hooded-pin sight and flip-up rear sight marked from 100 - 1000 meters. This model uses spring type barrel band retainers and has an integral 5-round box magazine. The rifle has it's original cleaning rod and folding bayonet, which folds into a channel carved into the side of the stock (see photos).

As mentioned, the rifle has a serial number of 44-4526 engraved on the left-side of the receiver. The barrel, barrel bands, and bolt all have the Izhevsk arsenal mark stamped on them (see photos). The bolt is also inscribed with the same marks as the receiver ring (see photos). There are no cartouches stamped on the stock. The bore is shiny with good rifling and the action is smooth and the bolt locks-up tight.

All the metal on the gun is blue except for the bolt which is polished. The receiver, magazine/trigger guard and barrel have about 80-90% original blue. There are a few scratches here and there and some of the blue is worn from the muzzle end of the barrel, otherwise the metal is in good condition (see photos).

The wood on the gun is in decent condition with some scratches, dings and divots here and there. The finish is scuffed-up and scratched in places, but there are no cracks in the stock or hand guard (see photos). Except for the markings on the left-side of the receiver mentioned above, there are no other import marks on the gun.

Overall the gun appears to be in excellent condition mechanically and is good in appearance. Serial #44-4526. STK. #13462.

If you're a collector of Military firearms, this rifle is a great example of a late model Russian Mosin-Nagant. Here's your chance to own a part of history!
