French Model 1886 M93 rifle in 8mm Lebel. Made at Chatellerault. Barrel dated MA C 1888. SN: 49979. Matching numbers on: barrel, bolt, bolt head, floor plate, buttstock. The forend has a barely visible number that does not match. No import stamps. 75% original blue finish. There is a bit of surface damage to the back section of the barrel. It was grasped in a vise which left some impressions in the steel. Very shallow, but it raised enough metal to leave a coarse surface. The one inch spot on the Left side by the serial number is the only major problem. Could easily be cleaned up with a file and cold blued but I shall leave such repairs to future owners. The bore is very good. Mostly shiny, with sharp rifling. The letter “N” on the barrel and receiver indicate this rifle was chambered for the 8mm Lebel balle N cartridge. Stocks have no major damage. The fore stock has a small 2 inch crack on the bottom, in front of the receiver. Both stock and fore end have that old sanded look most French rifles have. Pre 1899 antique. No FFL required for purchase. $30.00 for insured USPS shipping. Money orders please. Check my other auctions.
