Here is a neat one for auction. Its a Japanese type 44 Carbine. My research tells me it's a Kokura 1st series third bayonet housing model serial number 081xx .These are rare less than 9000 were made. Metal finish is superb. Still shows strawing color on the small parts. Bluing about 95% and most wear is on the butt plate as you would expect. Mag follower still fire blued.Bolt and receiver show some arsenal grease still in the action. Bore is mint. It is matching and the mum is intact and unblemished. The following parts are matching to the last three numbers on the receiver the bayonet housing,,bolt, safety, floor plate, The extractor is correctly un-numbered as is the firing pin. Bayonet assembly (not the housing) is matched by a seperate sub-assembly number 110. The best part is it comes with 1 section of the often missing cleaning rods. The stock may have been lighly "enhanced" long ago but the proofs are still plainly visible and sharp. There are 3 stock proofs on this model and three drain holes also on the underside.Overall this is a very desireable rifle and not commonly found matching with the mum.
