This VZ24 would have been a thing of beauty -- except some schluck left it where the air was damp. So, it has pitting on the outside of the barrel and on the front of the receiver ring. I've tried to show the area on the receiver ring in one of the pictures. The pitted barrel areas would be covered by the wood, I believe. It's a shame, really, and fixing it properly is well beyond my metal-working skills. However, the bore is shiny and the rifling is strong, so I'm hoping that someone might be able to make this parts gun into a shooter (for not very much money).
Bolt doesn’t match, but it's close to the right number, and has the same "SR" prefix. The stock looks to me to be almost new, and would be in good shape -- except for two chips at the heel of the stock. I've tried to show these chips in another picture. The bolt, trigger, and rear sight all look to be in good working condition. So I'm starting the bidding at the going rate for a VZ24 bolt alone.
If I find any other parts during the time the auction is active, I'll throw them in too, and update the auction to indicate what else may be there. However, I don't guarantee any of this -- except for the bolt, of course -- and what you see is what you get. As usual I strongly recommend you have anything you might rebuild out of these parts checked out by a qualified gunsmith before you try to shoot it . . .
I was intending to see if I could fix some of the defects and make it into a real shooter, but I never seemed to get around to it, and now I need to pass it on to a new owner who can maybe make some use out of it. If you are looking for VZ24 parts, this poor abused thing might be just right for you.
I hope so . . .
Added information on 17 Feb 08: Eureka !! I found the bag with some miscellaneous parts -- there's a buttplate, the lower band, the sight protector, the lower sling swivel, and the ejector/bolt stop assembly, plus miscellaneous screws and bolts. As I said earlier, all these go to the winning bidder. I'm still looking, too. I particularly want to find the triggerguard . . .
More added on the 17th: I've found the upper band and triggerguard (but no floorplate, follower or spring). I'll keep looking, but I'm pretty sure these are all the parts there are. I've added a picture of the way it looks now !!
Still -- it's better than I expected . . .

|Payment and Shipping Instructions:|
I accept money orders and/or cashier's checks in payment. No bidders from outside the USA, though. Nothing personal, it's just too hard to deal with the import-export regulations.
I'll mail this Mauser rifle to the winning bidder's C&R or Dealer FFL holder of choice anywhere in the "lower 48" for $15.95 parcel post (or UPS), including insurance (in addition to your winning bid amount, of course). If you live in more remote parts of the USA, that's OK too -- I'll figure out the actual postage to your mailing address and charge you that amount, but keep in mind that it may be two or three times as much as I quoted for here in the continental USA. Anyway, it's not my objective to get rich off postage . . .
Thanks very much for looking, and Good Luck Bidding !!
