Martini-Enfield Target Rifle. .22 caliber. Converted by W.W. Greener. The action of this weapon originally started out as a Martini-Henry Mk I service rifle produced in 1874. In 1900 it was converted to a Martini-Enfield Mk III Artillery Carbine. About 1930 the action was taken by W.W. Greener and converted to a .22 caliber target rifle for the British National Rifle Association. In addition to rebarreling to .22 and modifying the extractor and ejector, the original service rear sight base was recalibrated to 50/100 yards, the rifle fitted with a BSA No. 8 Rear Aperture sight and a BSA No. 20B Convertible Front Aperture/Post front sight. Overall gun is 95%+ finish. Bore is Minty – extremely sharp and crisp. Action is extremely crisp and tight. Fore end and buttstock are checkered. Buttstock is the original Martini-Enfield with a clear Enfield cartouche. Matching numbers – receiver and barrel. No import marks.
