Buyer Tip: If you're the
High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder.
Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't
high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that
you are. All Auctions are conducted in Pacific Time.
This is a 1907 Vintage Cast Iron toy cannon. It bears the information: "PAT FEB 1907" in raised characters on the barrel. On the carriage it reads in raised characters, "Campbell Rapid Fire Gun." George P. Campbell, Yonkers, N. Y. filed his patent in December 1905, but officiallly listed as Patented on February 19, 1097. This cannon was designed to shoot cork or rubber balls, but will shoot heavier items, such as marbles in succession for quite a distance. The left wheel is slightly damaged, the crank fire mechanism still works and propels marbles with ease. It is in good condition and all markings are ledgible. It measures 15 1/2" Long x 5" Wide x 7" Tall. It weighs approx 5 pounds.
This is a rare toy and a great find for the serious collector.
(Shipping cost will be actual UPS cost.)
