This is a Springfield Armory M6 Scout O/U Survival Rifle. These guns were made by CZ for Springfield Armory. This particular M6 has a .22 Hornet rifled bore over a .410 smoothbore with a 3" chamber. The rifle has 18-1/4" barrels. Both bores are in excellent condition. The barrels, receiver and stock are stainless steel. The stainless steel finish is in very good to excellent condition with a few small spots of pitting on the top-left side of the .22 Hornet barrel, and a few small spots on the receiver and left-locking ear (see photos).
The safety which is incorporated into the hammer also acts as the barrel selector. When the safety/selector is in the up position the rifle barrel is selected, when the safety/selector is pushed down the shotgun barrel is selected. Turning the safety/selector counterclockwise in either position (up or down), actuates the safety and locks the hammer. The trigger was designed to shoot with heavy gloves on and is unique in that it goes up and not back like a conventional trigger (see photos).
There is a fixed-blade front sight with a flip-style rear sight. The rear sight is two sights in one and is stamped 22 or 410 and can be flipped for shooting the rifle barrel (peep sight) or shooting the .410 barrel (v-notch sight). The stainless steel stock has a plastic stow-away compartment which is hinged at the top and opens with a release button on the side of the stock. The stow-away compartment houses .22 Hornet cartridges and .410 shells. The barrel hinge pin can also be stored in the buttstock when the gun is taken-down (see photos). The gun comes with it's original carrying pouch. The pouch is in very good condition with no rips or tears. We do not have the Owner's Manual for this gun.
Overall this gun is in excellent condition mechanically and in appearance. Serial #MC 078543. STK. #10914.
Here's a really unique take-down survival rifle. If you're into backpacking the rugged terrain, this M6 would make an excellent companion on those deep woods treks or it would be a nice piece to add to your collection. These guns are no longer made and are very hard to come by so don't miss out on this one you may not see another one for a long time.
