This is a Marlin 881 .22 bolt action rifle. It has a 22 inch long barrel. The stock is made of walnut and has cut checkering panels. The metal finish is blue. The rifle has a set of sling swivels installed at the factory and a rubber recoil pad. I found this rifle in a pawn shop and the rifle is generally in good shape. The stock is a little battered from some rough handeling and the blue finish had a light coat of rust on the exposed metal surfaces. I rubbed the metal with an oil soaked steel wool pad(0000) and the metal looks ok. There is no serious pitting. It has a tube magazine that holds about 16 .22 long rifle bullets. The rifle is pretty accurate. The front sight is missing and the rear sight is missing its' elevator blade. I had a 4x scope on the rifle and enjoyed shooting it very much. The 22 inch barrel give plenty of time for the powder charge to burn which results in higher velocities for the bullets. I have shot the rifle about 100 times with no malfunctions. It has an excellent trigger, light and crisp. The rifle comes with the sling and scope rings you see here. The front sight has been removed but could be replaced if you prefer iron sights.
