This is a Stevens Model 887 by Savage Arms. This rifle is a tube-feed, semi-auto chambered in .22 LR caliber. The gun has a 20" barrel. The bore is in very good condition with crisp rifling. Blue is 95%. There are some scratches on the barrel, mag. tube and receiver with some rust pitting on the barrel around the rear sight (see photos). Some of the blue is worn from the muzzle of the barrel.
The gun has a checkered hardwood pistol grip stock. There are a few scratches and a couple of nicks in the stock, but no cracks. The left-side of the stock has some finish damage in the grip area (see photos). The gun has it's original plastic buttplate. The buttplate is a bit scuffed-up but overall in good condition.
The gun has a dovetailed front sight and adjustable rear sight, however the rear sight ramp is missing. There is a Savage Springfield 4X15 Model 1541 scope mounted grooved receiver. The optics are a bit cloudy but are usable and still show a decent sight picture. If you're looking for a semi-auto .22LR to have some fun with, this Model 887 with it's 4X15 scope would fit the bill. You may have had one of these as a kid and used for squirrel huntin' many years ago. If so, pick-up this one and go out plinking just like in the old days!
Overall this gun is in good condition mechanically and very good in appearance. Serial #D285959. STK. #7597.
