Custom No. 4 Mk. I* .303 British ser. no. 75280C8688, original barrel cut to 22", flush magazine, hinged floorplate with inside trigger guard release, screw-on ramp front and Williams rear receiver sights. One piece stock of good black walnut, well done borderless point pattern checkering, Monte Carlo cheekpiece, aluminum grip cap and buttplate, schnable forend tip, eyes for QD swivels. Mint bore, 99% exterior finish. "CUSTOM BUILT DAVE MILNE" lightly and crudely scratched on buttplate - which is upside down in the picture! Weight 7 lbs. A lot of special work in this rifle, the butt stock socket and receiver bridge with charger guide and military peepsight removed, the whole magazine assembly extensively changed, trigger modified to hang from the action like a Mk.2, etc., etc. Unusual and interesting sporter made from an ugly duckling. Note that altho rifle appears mechanically perfect, I have never shot it and it is sold as a used gun without any warranty of safety or fitness for use. Also, to be more precise in the description, it is not a "Lee-Enfield" but a No. 4 rifle. The Short Model Lee-Enfield No. 1 (SMLE) was the WWI rifle and this is the WWII rifle (the No. 2 was a .22 trainer and the No. 3 was the big 1914 Enfield which the US modified to .30'06 as the Model 1817).
