Bluing Single Barrel Flat Matte Finish Entire Gun
Offered is a flat matte finish for your entire single barrel. It includes stripping of any old bluing and rust. Follows is a thorough polish involving up to four grades of polish. Each grade offers a finer level of grit. Extensive care is taken around any engravings. After this procedure is completed, the barrel is bead blasted to a uniform matte finish. Deep pitting, especially around engravings, may not be able to be removed. They can be minimized but not removed without damaging engraving. Shot blasting creates a more uniform look. An additional fee of not more than $40.00 may be charged for barrels with excessive or heavy rusting (and it needs to be very excessive for this to be done).
Please disassemble and inventory your pieces prior to sending them. Include a copy of your inventory list with your shipment, but be sure to retain a copy for yourself.
All components such as screws, pins, etc. when refinished, make the completed gun a much more attractive piece, so please be sure to include them.
Precision Bluing does hold an FFL, so if you will be shipping your weapon via a gunsmith, please have a copy of their FFL sent as well for logging purposes. We will send a copy of ours upon return of the firearm for your gunsmith's logging purposes. Please note, it is NOT REQUIRED for you to ship in this manner!
The shipping fee being charged is to cover the return cost so that we can get it back to you!
If you choose to, we will be happy to take pictures of your barrel throughout the process and email them to you so that you can follow its progress. Just let us know in advance!
Want more done? A list of our fees can be found here.
Please read the information included in the links at the top of our store front. They have information that covers the bluing process step-by-step, as well as to explain why this process is so important in preserving a firearm.
Please feel free to email us with any questions. Good luck!
