Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Mosin-Nagant -- M91/30 EX-SNIPER MOSIN NAGANT 7.62x54R

This is a excellent condition Izhevsk manufactured ex-PU sniper rifle dated 1943. Has crossed out PU scope number on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. Inside the receiver you can see the old mounting hardware. I have own several ex-snipers and this is the first one I have come across with a small cirle with crosshairs stamped on the top of the receiver near where the scope base would be and on the top of barrel below the serial number. (see pic of top of barrel) All numbers match including the bolt. Only exception is that the floorplate was restamped to match. The stock is a new arsenal replacement as it does not have a repair where PU sniper stocks were notched for the scope base. Comes with a sling, cleaning rod and bayonet.

Questions for Users
Q:  what is bore condition and is it counterbored. 02/19/2007
A:  The bore is very good. Shiny not dark. Lots of rifling. It is not counterbored. Has a tight crown when I set a inverted round in the muzzle. 03/08/2007
Q:  Hi Tyler 1862, In the description of this M91/30, you say the bolt & barrel have matching numbers. If this was an original sniper, would not the bolt be of the turned down type. Has the bolt been re-stamped? The pictures show a straight handle. There are a lot of recently manufactured "snipers" out there, that were destined for the U.S. Some with the PE type scope & some with the PU. There are also available out there "snipers" that are drilled & tapped for screws, with the pins installed & turned down bolts. FYI. Still it is a nice looking rifle. Joeshooter 03/08/2007
A:  Those recent imports you are refering to are not original snipers but just put togethers by CIA, Inc. This rifle is a original sniper. It has been put in a different stock as the wood is not notched for the scope base. As far as the bolt handle goes it has a matching number but yes it is not turned down sniper type. Who know what the russians did over there when refinishing these rifles. I don't know if they reworked the original bolt or just stamped this bolt to match. The point you missed is you could have this bolt reworked into a sniper style handle and have a matching rifle. Also it does not take much by a good gunsmith to redrill the original mounting holes. Had this done to a original hexed receiver PE sniper I came across. 03/08/2007
Q:  Sir, What is the bore like on this gun?~~Thanks 03/18/2007
A:  The bore is in very good condition. Very shinny, no pitting. Also NOT counterbored. 03/18/2007
