Rare Model 1908 Game Getter 22/44 Pistol w/Stock Offered herein is an exceptional example of one of those delightful little gun oddities of the collecting world – the Marble's Game Getter
This specimen is the EARLIEST
and most desirable of two basic
versions of the gun- the 1908 model designed by Webster L. Marble and Manufactured by the Marble Safety Axe Company, which became Marble's Arms & Mfg. Co, in 1911.
The first 1908 gun was shipped from the factory
in June of 1909. It was produced until 1914. This specimen is serial number 1528. The upper barrel of this gun was chambered for .22 short, long, and long rifle cartridges and the lower barrel chambered for the .44 shot and ball cartridges.
The gun has an 18-inch barrel. It has a factory folding butt stock.
It also has a scarce rear mounted tang peep sight. The gun retains 99.9% blue
on its frame and receiver. The barrel has about 60-75% original blue mixing with plum brown and brown patina. The hammer retains 100% of its case colors
and the grips are about MINT.
The bores are EXCELLENT. This old Marble's Game Getter can be obtained with a CURIO and RELIC license or FFL by transfer. A very fine and desire collectible.
