SMITH AND WESSON 44 DOUBLE ACTION IN FINE - EXCELLENT CONDITIION. THIS WAS SMITH AND WESSON'S FIRST MODEL FOR A LARGE FRAME DOUBLE ACTION FROM 1881-1913. THE SMITH AND WESSON 44 DOUBLE ACTION, CALIBUR .44 S&W RUSSIAN, HAS 4 INCH BARREL AND MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS ON ALL PARTS. THIS IS ONE OF THE EARLIER ONES WITH SERIAL NUMBER 10298. GUN IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH 70% OF ORIGINAL BLUING AND 70% OF CASE HARDENING ON TRIGGER AND HAMMER. ALSO, AS A BONUS, COMES WITH REAL AUTHENTIC IVORY GRIPS. THE GRIPS ARE IN FAIR SHAPE WITH NORMAL AGING AND A FEW SMALL CRACKS. (NO MAJOR DAMAGE). THE BORE IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE STILL SHINES NO PITTING RIFLING NEAR PERFECT AND THE GUN IS VERY TIGHT. BARREL TO FRAME LOCKUP IS VERY TIGHT AND AUTOMATIC EJECTOR WORKS PERFECTLY. VERY LITTLE TO NO PLAY AT THE HINGE. SINGLE ACTION AND DOUBLE ACTION ON THE REVOLVER WORK PERFECT. THIS IS ONE OF THE NICER REVOLVERS THAT I HAVE SEEN. IT IS A GOOD SOLID ALL ORIGINAL EARLY S & W 44 DOBLE ACTION. SEE PICTURES.
