Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Daisy Red Ryder,1988 Com.w/Display Board MIB No.53

When Daisy produced this 50th Anniversary Red Ryder Commemorative BB Gun in 1988 they set aside a limited number of low numbered guns to sell direct from the factory to collectors and preferred customers. That is how I obtained the gun, direct from the Daisy Service & Repair Dept. These guns, not intended for retail sale, did not have the Treasure Chest of BBs glued and taped to the box and they did not come with the repro copy of the first Red Ryder Comic Book. I am including a comic book but it was not part of the original set. The display board is a very rare item and I do not think these were sold at retail. The only ones I have seen came direct from the factory. As you may know, this version of the Commemorative was only produced for one year, 1988. Later guns, while the same had a different medallion which reads 19-38. The medallion on this gun reads 1938-1988. The gun was made to commemorate the introduction of Red Ryder, the comic book hero, in 1938, not the Red Ryder BB gun which was introduced in 1940. The lot number on this gun is 8800053. 88 is the year of production and 53 indicates it was the 53rd gun produced. The factory sticker on the end of the box also reads 8800053. Everything just as I received it from the factory in 1988. Note that this box has the end-flap opening not the later clam-shell which is still in use today. Starting at $150.00 with no other reserve. I never use a secret reserve! Why would you? Buyer pays P,I&H. Checks held 10 business days. MOs sent ASAP. Note: The display board is heavy so the shipping charges will be higher than usual for a BB gun.
