This is a WWII Blued Winchester Model 12 Trench Gun In Very Fine Condition. The Right Side of the Receiver, Under the Ejection Port, is Stamped: "U.S." Over the Ordnance Department's: "Flaming Bomb". The "Flaming Bomb" is Also Stamped On the Rear, Top of the Barrel, Just Ahead of the Winchester Proof Mark. The Correct 20 5/8" Barrel is Stamped: "CYL" (Cylinder). The Barrel is Stamped: "43" (Year of Manufacture) On Its Underside, Breech End. "Mirror" Barrel Bore. The Bayonet Lug & Heatshield Assembly has Four Rows of 19 Large Cooling Holes and is In Excellent Condition. Its Original Winchester Factory Bluing Shows Considerable Wear from Carrying and Thinning; Particularly, the Receiver, Receiver Extension and the Magazine Tube. It Still has At Least 65 to 70% of Its Bluing. Except for the Bluing Wear, this Model 12 Trench Gun is In Excellent Condition. Action/Mechancially It is "As New" and has been Completely "Checked-Out" and "Test-Fired" By My Very Competent Model 12 Gunsmith (He Said: "While this Model 12 Trench Gun was Carried a Lot, It Functions Very Well . It has a Really Nice Wood Set, Better than Most Model 12 Trench Guns".). Its Wood Set is Indeed, Very, Very Nice and Virtually has 100% of Its Varnish. Except for Some Very, Very Light Usage Marks, There is No Cracks or Significant Dings At All. On the Left Side of the Butt Stock, Near the Center, there is a Well Struck Inspector's Boxed: "G.H.D." Over the Ordnance Department's: "Wheel With Crossed Cannons" Cartouche. The Butt Stock has an "As New" Correct Inletted Sling Swivel and Screws. Also, the Butt Stock has a "Near New' Correct Black Hard Rubber Butt Plate and Butt Plate Screws. Its Serial Number is 996,8XX.
