Walnut stock, browned barrel, case-hardened lock, brass furniture. Barrel
length 39 inches. Overall length 55 inches. double set trigger. Weight about 8
1/4 pounds. Overall condition good. This rifle has been used, and shows normal
wear, but no abuse.
Also included: Percussion lock and drum, two ramrods (original hickory and
brown Delrin), pan brush and touchhole pick.
Not a copy of any particular gun, but representative of the 1790 period in
general. Also called Blue Ridge rifle or Frontier Rifle.
Modifications: Pedersoli recessed breech relieved to the .32 bore diameter to
aid in cleaning. Buttstock drilled and filled with lead to improve balance
for offhand shooting.
