Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

48AL Hunter SemiAuto 20 gauge 2 3/4 shell

This hard to find older model (pre1989) Franchi model 48AL Hunter 20 gauge semiautomatic shotgun firing 2 3/4" shells is in Excellent overall condition, with only a few minor dings and scratches on the wood and a few minor scratches on the receiver. These flaws are barely noticeable, but must be mentioned for the sake of accuracy. It rates a 98% original condition decription rating. This great looking and very lightweight (5.6 lbs.) Franchi 48AL Hunter model shotgun was imported exclusively by F.I.E. (Firearms Import & Export) Firearms of Hialeah, FL, and was made prior to 1989, which can be determined by the fact that it is not threaded for choke tubes, which were introduced to this model in 1990. It is stamped across the top of the left side of the receiver "S.p.A. LUIGI FRANCHI-BRESCIA-made in Italy-48/AL 20 Ga. HUNTER". The TUBULAR magazine holds five(5) 2 3/4" shotgun shells. The 24" ventilated rib barrel with brass bead front sight is choked Improved Cylinder, and the bore is in Near Mint condition, with no darkening or pitting. The serial # is L111XX. The sideplates of the receiver are finished in grey metal which has been etched with bird hunting scenes. On the left side of the receiver is a scene of four(4) pheasants being flushed from a cornfield. On the right side of the receiver is a scene of a flock of ducks flying over a woodland marsh. These are very nice decorative touches, which could only be found on this particular model, so that this extremely lightweight hunting shotgun will have particular appeal to those hunters who enjoy pheasant or duck hunting. It will appeal especially to those hunters for whom a very lightweight shotgun is an asset, such as either younger or older hunters, persons with back or other physical problems, or a woman hunter. The very light weight of this shotgun also makes it a great shotgun for a beginning hunter to "learn the ropes" with. Those of us who have carried a heavy shotgun around from dawn til dusk can appreciate the fact that it may start out at the beginning of the day feeling its' actual weight of 7-8 pounds, but it will feel like it weighs about 50 pounds by the time day is done! This is a great looking little shotgun in wonderful overall condition, and it would make a wonderful gift for your "significant other" or for one of your children to learn how to hunt with. The Franchi shotgun line is currently imported by BenelliUSA, and you can see current pictures and other detailed information regarding the Franchi AL48 shotgun line on the Franchi website. This neat little shotgun is almost identical to what you will see pictured there, with the addition of the very nice bird hunting etchings found on the receiver. $15.00 S&H. Bank check, money order or personal check. (must clear) I accept BidPay (www.bidpay.com) for credit card use. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL. Payment is due within seven(7) calendar days of end of auction. FFL required. 6.5% sales tax applies to Florida bidders.
