Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" DA Revolver - Cal. .38 - 4 1/2" Bbl. - SN 95311 (1894) all matching numbers with a high quality fitted case. Excellent bright bore with sharp rifling - shows a few spots of very mild roughness. Action is excellent in SA and DA with perfect timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent overall with no rust, pits, or corrosion - excellent screws and sharp markings - retains nitre blue on hammer and screw heads - has some very light "spotting" in the cylinder grooves and a thinned spot on the barrel. Barrel, ejector housing, guard, and backstrap retain 85% blue with some thinning. The cylinder has about 80% thinning blue. The frame retains about 75% bright case colors. Hard rubber grips are excellent and undamaged with sharp checkering and logo. The custom-made fitted wooden case is excellent and undamaged - felt lined with key and of more recent construction - these cases are currently retailing at $400 to $500. An exceptionally crisp and all original "Lightning" with perfect mechanics in Excellent ++ condition and makes a very attractive outfit with the fitted case. Will make a nice addition to an early Colt or old West collection.
