WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL / WINCHOKE”, with a circled “WP” proof found on top of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number". The butt plate has Pachmayr's White Line markings.

Barrel Length: 28”

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a steel bead, which is screwed into the ventilated rib; the top of the rib and receiver are serrated for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece matte finished hardwood set. The forend has only a few scuffs. The butt stock has a few scrapes and mild gouges. The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black ventilated rubber aftermarket Pachmayr recoil pad; the pad and spacers are larger than the stock but the material is supple, it rates in Very Good condition as not original. The stocks rate in about Excellent and Very Good overall condition, respectively.

Type of Finish: Blue, with Matte Black Alloy Receiver

Finish Originality: Factory Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The surfaces have a few minor marks, most of which avoid notice until close review. There are a few tiny spots of frosting on the rib and barrel, light rubbing is seen on the alloy receiver, the shotgun looks to have seen minimal use with proper care in the interim. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The tube magazine is currently blocked for 2 shells. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is one Modified RemChoke, showing light use, in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: From http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/usa/winchester-1300-e.html “The Winchester 1300 shotgun was first introduced in around 1981, when the US Repeating Arms Company (USRAC) took over production of the 'Winchester' brand guns from the Olin / Winchester corporation. In fact, the model 1300 was a slightly modified version of the previous Winchester model 1200 shotgun, which was manufactured by Olin /Winchester between 1964 and 1980. With recent (mid-2007) closure of the USRAC factory production of the Winchester model 1300 shotguns, along with other Winchester brand guns, was moved to Winchester Repeating Arms Co; new guns will be manufactured by one of the FN ManufacturingCo subsidaries located in the Morgan, Utah. The Winchester1300 shotguns are also known as the 'Speed pump', because of the very fast-cycling pump action, which makes these guns popular among both hunters and sport shooters. These shotguns also work well for home defense and security applications, especially with availability of relatively short-barreled models with long magazines. The Winchester 1300 shotgun utilizes so called pump action, which is operated by sliding for end. For end is connected with bolt group with dual action bars. Receiver is produced from lightweight aluminum alloy, and the bolt locks into the barrel extension using a rotary bolt head with four radial locking lugs. Feed is from tubular under barrel magazines, which can be had in a variety of lengths / capacities. Barrels are quick-detachable; in 'Defender' configurations barrels have fixed cylinder choke; in hunting configurations barrels are usually fitted with replaceable chokes and a sighting rib. Standard furniture comes in wood or plastic varieties, finish and sights may vary from version to version.” This is the Ranger 140, which overall looks to have seen minimal use, it was probably stored for most of its life and still has many years of live to give. If you need a nice field shotgun, this one will weigh less with an alloy receiver. Please see our pictures and good luck.
